REMEMBER

Honor Their Memory with Your Contribution

Remember: With this level of commitment, your Bar or Bat Mitzvah student will be connected with an Israeli family who wish to honor the memory of their child that was murdered on October 7th.

Pairings are often done by similar names, birthdate or origins, to learn their story and honor them during their own milestone events.

Mitzvahs for Angels will provide your family with all of the information about that Angel and encourage acts like saying Kaddish, lighting a candle, or mentioning the child in their Dvar Torah (speech). The goal is to turn abstract statistics into personal connections through acts of remembrance, mitzvot, and sharing stories of that Angel.

RESTORE

Empowering Families Through Meaningful Connections

The RESTORE milestone makes a deeper connection between your Bar or Bat Mitzvah student and the family in Israeli that Mitzvahs for Angels introduces you to.

Pairings will be done in the same manner as with the Remember milestone, however you will have the opportunity to speak with the Israeli family directly as they wish to be more involved and have a more meaningful connection on their end.

In addition to saying kaddish and lighting a candle during your service, and mentioning the child in a Dvar Torah, we ask that families make a contribution to (an Israeli organization) in memory of the Angel. These organizations continue to support families in Israel that were impacted by October 7th.

This milestone is truly about Empowering Families Through Meaningful Connections.

REBUILD

Support Community Rebuilding and Healing Connections

The REBUILD milestone invites you to make a profound impact in the lives of an Israeli family who either lost a child during October 7th or had to postpone their celebration due to circumstances of the war.

At this level, Mitzvahs for Angels will pair your family with an Israeli family who has expressed interest in traveling to the United States and sharing in the celebration together.

We will help coordinate all planning with both families and your synagogue to ensure that every detail is handled seamlessly. This includes all travel, accommodations and activities for the visiting family during their stay in your hometown.

We can assure you that celebrating together will not take away from your child’s bar or bat mitzvah weekend and the focus will still be on them.

Please click the Testimonial link to read about a recent Bar Mitzvah that was shared with an Israeli family of a released October 7th hostage.

Please keep in mind that all of these milestones can be customized in every way to accomplish your child’s mitzvah project goals.

We aim to remember, restore, and rebuild connections across communities
